Alegria is a visual experiment that uses different animation techniques and video footage. The subject matter selected is one of the rhythms (or compas) of flamenco: the one of Alegrias. Using this rhythm, an allusive imagery was developed to visually represent it. The structure of this flamenco rhythm is defined by a musical and cultural tradition, and in this piece there are two of the main structural sections represented: the main compas and the one of "silencio". Through this work, there is an attempt of representing two feelings that feed the flamenco tradition: happiness and sorrow.
